We’re happy you are considering volunteering at Historic Dixon Theatre! We function 100% on VOLUNTEERS, do not pay any employees and are a Not-For-Profit 501 c 3. We do not receive any State or Government Funding, only donations and revenue from rental fees & concession sales.
Take a look at some of the things our wonderful volunteers do to keep this great facility going…
BEFORE EACH EVENT: emptying garbage, cleaning toilets, wiping down sinks, sweeping and mopping all floors, filling paper towel, toilet paper and soap dispensers, setting up concessions, washing windows and mirrors, dusting with a dry duster, mopping the stage, cleaning dressing rooms.
DURING THE EVENT: Work the concession stand, scanning tickets, stamping hands, checking ID’s, selling tickets, selling raffle tickets, watching exits/security during alcohol sales, ushering during assigned seating events.
AFTER EACH EVENT: Empty all garbage, put away concessions, walk through auditorium and clean up, clean up obvious spills anywhere in theatre.
OCCASIONALLY: Touch up painting, spring cleaning, decorating for Holidays, change marquee, paint stage.
TECHNICAL EXPERIENCE: If you have any technical theatre experience such as lights, sound or any experience working backstage with rigging etc. please email us.
If you are skilled in a particular trade such as a Plumber, Electrician or General Contractor we can use your help! Email us at the link below!
